StEPS Podiatry  offers a domiciliary Podiatry service, which includes care homes. We currently provide a range of foot health services to more than 20 care homes across Ayrshire.  If you have a loved one currently resident in a care home, or if you work in a care home, what can you expect from StEPS Podiatry?

At StEPS Podiatry a large part of our caseload is vulnerable patients, including those with dementia. As such, we are very well placed to offer a high standard of service to people in care homes.  We are able to effectively manage foot problems that commonly effect people in care homes, such as nail clipping, corns and hard skin, diabetic foot complications, and the management of pressure sores, particularly  those affecting the heel. In fact, we are the only Podiatrists in Ayrshire able to use flexible heel casts, an innovative way to treat pressure sores.

At StEPS Podiatry we have all undertaken extensive training in dementia, and we are able to competently manage dementia behaviours.

We offer a specialised package for people in care homes;

1. option to pay via standing order

2. guaranteed appointment within 48hours

3. no late cancellation fee

4. extended appointment time to accomodate those people who have mobility problems and/or are more high risk

5. no emergency call out fee

6. out of hours emergency phone number

StEPS Podiatry is also happy to come along to family/staff meetings to answer any questions, or to speak to care home managers on a one to one basis.

Should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
