Vicki aims to re-imagine foot health services and to provide a more modern approach to Podiatry care. Her vision is to push the boundaries of care, offering patients state of the art assessments and treatments. Vicki qualified as a Podiatrist in 2005 from Queen Margaret University Edinburgh, with a 1st Class Honours Degree. Vicki has a PhD in gait analysis, foot orthoses and Rheumatoid Arthritis. She is a member of the Health Care Professions Council, and is qualified to administer local anaesthetic (LA) as well as Prescription Only Medicines (POMs). She is also a member of the Society of Podiatrists and Chiropodists, and has worked extensively in both the NHS and private practice.
Vicki has been acknowledged for her contribution to the care of patients with arthritis by winning the prestigious 2010/2011 Arthritis Research UK Podiatry Prize, and has published her research in a variety of medical journals, including the Journal of American Podiatric Medicine. Vicki has presented her work at a number of conferences across the globe, including Copenhagen, Athens, Queensland, Chicago and in the UK.
Vicki has a special interest in arthritis, and was invited to sit on the Brittish Health Professionals in Rheumatology Council in 2005. She stayed on council for 7 years as secretary and was involved in the development of strategies and care pathways used to treat patients with arthritis today.
Vicki works with the Scottish Football Association, Celtic Football Club, Ayr Rugby Club, the Scottish Athletics Association and the Royal & Ancient Senior Golf.
Vicki won the Lloyds TSB Enterprise Award 2013 for Best Start up in Scotland. She was shortlisted in 2012 for the Ayrshire Chamber Most Promising New Business and shortlisted for the Scottish Business Awards 2013 for Best Start Up. Vicki won the Glasgow Business Awards 2013 for Business Person of the Year and was also shortlisted for Ayrshire Chamber Awards 2013 for Entrepreneur of the Year.
